Further Gorey

Greetings, Gate. Say, Jack, let me pull your coat, if you can stand me to tell you about it, to the latest additions to my collection of Edward Gorey books and ephemera. It's the vout and very o-roonie, I'm tellin' ya!

Let's start with:

Amphigorey Too, 1st edition, 1975, G.P. Putnam. The second collection of Gorey's works. This completes my hardback 1sts of the Amphigorey series.

Books illustrated by Gorey:

Light Metres by Felicia Lamport, illustrations by Gorey. 1st edition, 1982, Everett House. I'd been holding out on this volume for some reason ... I suppose it was because I was entirely unfamiliar with Lamport's verse. Fortunately, her poems are droll, literary and brilliant. Gorey's illustrations compliment the verse perfectly.

New York Review Quiz Book, 1st edition, 1986, Crown Publishing. Illustrations by Gorey. These are some pretty tricky quizes. Fortunately, answers are provided.

Gorey Ephemera:

Unwritten Notes, 1998, Art Post. A boxed set of note cards and envelopes, two cards of five different illutrations.

Trick or Treat bag (seriously!), 1999 Mani-G-raps. Features the characters from the opening animated sequence of Mystery!

Edward Gorey address book, 1999, Pomegranate. Sealed address book featuring a variety of illustrations from Gorey's works ... that's what the blurb on the back says.

Edward Gorey Utter Zoo engagement book, 1999 Pomegranate. A sealed engagement book featuring the creatures from The Utter Zoo.

A Gorey Year, boxed 366 day desk calendar, 2000, Pomegranate. A boxed, sealed, 366 desk calendar featuring a variety of illustrations from Gorey's works.

All these came in one huge box, Gate. It was like opening up christmas presents!
