More Mosher Books

The rest of the world may be in an "all Potter, all the time" frenzy, but not me. Here are five new books from the Mosher Press which arrived this week and were more than sufficient to distract me from Pottermania.

Essays From the "Guardian" by Walter Pater, published by Thomas B. Mosher, 1897.
Water Pater contributed nine anonymous essays to the newspaper the Guardian during the middle 1880s on English literature and culture. Reading these essays, one senses the profound effect they would have had on Oscar Wilde and the Aesthetic Movement of the 1890s. Part of the Miscellaneous Series, a small octavo, in blue paper covered boards, with an engraving of Pater tipped in at the front. One of 400 hundred copies printed on Van Gelder hand-made paper.

The Tale of King Coustans the Emperor, translated by William Morris, published by Thomas B. Mosher, 1900, Second Edition.

The Tale of King Florus and the Fair Jehane, translated by William Morris, published by Thomas B. Morris, Third Edition.

The Story of Amis and Amile, translated by William Morris, published by Thomas B. Mosher, 1909, Sixth Edition.

The History of Over the Sea, translated by William Morris, published by Thomas B. Mosher, 1909, Third Edition.
All four of these books are part of the Brocade Series. Each is a 16mo printed on Imperial Mills Japan vellum and each with its slipcase in fair condition. William Morris translated a variety of Medieval French stories.
