I have mentioned my fondness for the gothic horror novels for children written by John Bellairs. I discovered the Bellairs books through my collecting Edward Gorey related books and I've really enjoyed reading them but I knew nothing about Bellairs himself.

Fortunately the internet has just about everything and here is a first class site on John Belliars and his novels. Here you'll find a complete bibliography of his works, character sketches, a list of all the illustrators ... Edward Gorey being the best known ... and Bellairs's literary influences, notably: H.P. Lovecraft, Henry James, and M.R. James.
