The Only Band That Mattered

The Clash that is, Gate! I'm listening to Give 'Em Enough Rope which I haven't listened to in a very long time. The last time I heard this album it was on vinyl. I always liked the album but I could never quite understand what Joe Strummer was singing ... not understanding the lyrics can be either a cool thing, as in the case of early R.E.M. or Echo and the Bunnymen, or very annoying as in this case. Fortunately someone has compiled the lyrics of The Clash on a rather nifty site. Now I understand what's going on with album and that makes it all the better.
