... It's not often you get to work a David Bowie lyric into your blog-o-roonie, Gate, and so i say that when that moment strikes, hit it, baby! Vout!

So this is my latest observation, Gate:

The new alterna-boy hairstyle is the white-boy-in-dreadlocks. It's worn most frequently by the trust-fund-hippie. And lest we forget the fair sex, that's the chicks, Gate, let me ask this non-musical question, quote: what is it with the skirt-over-pants look? unquote. I am sorely puzzled by this look.

Now, Gate, I know you're a killer diller in your fine vines and all the chicks go Vout over your threads, but are you truly sartorially hep? Or are you from Squaresville with your blue serge coat with the belt in the back?

This reminds me of an advert I reproduced in a book called The Hip: Hipsters, Jazz & the Beat Generation by Roy Carr, Brian Case and Fred Dellar. This advert features a goofy cartoon of Dizzy Gillespie hugging a jacket and the text runs:

Dizzy Gillespie Has Switched to Fox Bros.!

"John Loves Mary" but Diz doesn't Love Mary, Diz doesn't even KNOW Mary ~ Anyone can see HE loves ~ DIG THAT LABEL! You'd think it was sable with thatclinch a la Gable.

Gate, they definitely don't write copy like that anymore!
