In Fear Of An Orange Revolution

I had lunch with Jace this afternoon and she translated an article in the French newspaper Le Monde for me. Recently, the Russians arrested a small cell of spies they claim are working for the British (or British nationals, it is hard to determine just what happened) and using a magic stone: some sort of tracking/information sending device. A TV documentary was hurried aired, created by the new propaganda department and hosted by a former high-level KGB official, filling the average Russian with nostalga for the good old days of the Cold War, and instilling a healthy respect for Authority. The British government is perplexed by this action and cannot confirm the recent arrest of any British nationals.

This is news in Europe and Britain, but not here, of course. The beginnings of a purge seems to be taking shape in Russia and they're awfully cozy with the big players in the Islamo-Fascist world, especially Iran. What does the current Fascist-leaning Russian government have to fear that they are taking these well-worn Stalinist steps? Well, for one thing, they're in a dreadful panic that an Orange Revolution on the order of what took place in the Ukraine could happen in Russia. The next rigged election could have the streets of Moscow filled with angry protesters, not the sort of thing Putin and his gang would like to contemplate, much less see.
