Pioneer cartoonist Will Eisner is dead. This article in USA Today is a pretty good encapsulation of Eisner's work and his impact on the world of cartooning. Along with Milton Caniff, Eisner was one of my favourite cartoonists. There's more at Eisner's official site, too.
